Wren is alone on the graveyard shift when the lights go out and his supermarket becomes a System Store. Within its perimeter, the shelves still matter, transactions still count, and survival has acquired a price. Monster parts are now currency. Store revenue can buy security, inventory, processing equipment, and new departments, but every upgrade competes for the same scarce funds. Worse, the Store cannot refuse a paying customer, no matter what that customer intends to do after stepping outside the safe zone. In thirty days, the System will conduct its first audit. Wren must complete one thousand transactions, unlock five departments, and reach Level 2 security before the evaluation—or lose the only protected ground for miles. Hunters need food, medicine, clean water, and someone who can turn monster remains into useful goods. Wren needs supply routes, repeat customers, and enough trust to make the Store indispensable. In the end of the world, the most important class may belong to the man behind the counter.
